Nice. You sure look like a duck hunter. I've never taking up waterfowl hunting, but I've heard it can be a lot of action. I also heard that Wood Duck is one of the better eating ducks. Congrats, TC.

We're way off the wood duck flyway, I've only seen one in my lifetime and he was lost.

That's really cool, they're the prettiest of all ducks.

They are beautiful birds and congrats on your first one. Here in east Texas there are lots of them.

One thing about them is that if you are in a place that they want to be they are going to come in no matter what. I have actually had them land in my decoys as I was picking them up. One time a "squealer" (local term for wood ducks) landed on top of my boat motor.

I did not see that many farther west.

Lots of people don't know it but west Texas has some great duck hunting. There is not all that much water but when you find some there will be ducks. Get up around the panhandle and I have seen so many pintails sitting on a payla lake (old buffalo wallow) you could not see the water.

Thanksgiving we are leaving for South Dakota to go phesant hunting. It is cold up there then but there is tons of ducks and geese.

If you are going to mount a duck you could not have picked a better on. I probably see more wood duck mounts than any other.
