A friend of mine used to work for Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurants.
I told him I really liked their chili, and he gave me this recipe.
Made some up last night. Spooned it over Fritos..

Some shredded cheddar, diced onions..
Makes a really good chili. Best part is that it takes less than an hour!
Italian Chili1lb. ground beef
1/2lb. bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
2 cloves minced garlic
1 1lb,10oz. jar Ragu Super Chunky Mushroom spaghetti sauce
1 15oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 15oz. can chili beans, drained
1 14 1/2oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 4oz. jar or can of sliced mushrooms, drained
1 cup of water
1/3rd cup sliced pepperoni, halved
5 tsp. chili powder, or more to taste
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper, to taste
Crushed red pepper, to taste
In a large pot, brown beef, sausage,onion,green pepper, and garlic. drain well.
Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
