I am supposed to go for the first time in a couple of weeks. What kind of rig and line do you use.

I've only caught a couple of walleye and that was when I was huntin for bass,, I googled walleye fishing and came across lots of info,,,

I use minnows , night crawlers , with jig ...

you could use a leech also , better to bounce off the bottom ...
