Well, I broke the sear spring on my "canoegun" (20" barrelled 20ga. flintlock NW Tradegun) at this year's D&C. My fault...while in the field, I noticed the half cock wasn't as secure as I liked, so I took off the lock, removed the sear spring and bent it out a tad...woulda worked, but had to try a tad more...it broke. had to finish up D&C with a modern suppository gun!
Guy at the gunshop has a Pedersoli NW Tradegun, full sized, never fired. He would like to trade for my old "truckgun" I carried when I was gamewardening, a .303 Enfield Jungle Carbine.
The full size musket would have been better for dove hunting...having 2 would be kinda neat...I don't need the Enfield anymore....
having a spare along in case I break a sear spring again... :biglol:
Yup gonna do it!
